Questions
What should a support job ad include?
The title, hours, location, pay, channels you cover, a few skills that matter and how to apply. Short ads with real pay get more of the right applicants.
Should I put the pay in the ad?
Yes. It saves everyone time and many candidates skip ads without it. A range is fine.
What skills matter most for support?
Clear writing, patience and the habit of reading the whole message. Product knowledge can be taught in a week, those three cannot.
Should the ad ask for experience?
Ask for evidence of the skills instead of years of experience. A sample reply to a practice ticket tells you more than a CV.
How do I train the new hire?
Start with shadowing, move to practice tickets, then real tickets with a second pair of eyes. Flatdesk has internal notes and macros that make that easier.
