Ticket reopen reason sorter: why do tickets come back?

Reopened tickets cost twice. Paste a note for each one and see which reasons come up most, so you know whether to fix the answers, the fixes or the closing habit.

  • Fix did not work · 3 · 50%
  • Closed too early · 1 · 17%
  • New question on the same ticket · 1 · 17%
  • Wrong or incomplete answer · 1 · 17%

Fix the biggest reason first. Most reopens come from a fix that did not hold, or a ticket closed before the customer agreed.

Questions

Why do tickets get reopened?

Usually the fix did not hold, the answer missed the question, or the ticket was closed before the customer agreed. Sorting your reopen notes shows which one is yours.

How are the notes sorted?

By keywords in each line. It is a quick first pass, not a classifier. Lines that match nothing are counted as Other, so read those yourself.

What is a healthy reopen rate?

There is no single number. Watch your own trend and look for the biggest reason first. Most teams see the rate fall when they confirm a fix with the customer before closing.

Where do I get the reopen notes?

From the first message after a ticket was reopened, or a short note an agent adds when they reopen it. Paste one per line.

Does my data leave the browser?

No. The sorting runs on this page and nothing is sent anywhere.
