Questions
How many support goals should a team set?
Two or three. Pick the numbers that hurt customers most, such as first response time and backlog, and leave the rest as things you watch.
How big should the improvement be?
A 20 to 30 percent improvement over a quarter is ambitious but realistic for most teams. Bigger jumps usually need more people or a change in how tickets arrive.
Why does CSAT use the gap to 100 percent?
The closer you are to 100, the harder each point is to win. Closing a share of the gap keeps the target honest: going from 90 to 92.5 is a bigger step than going from 70 to 72.5.
What are the extra closes per week?
It is how many more tickets than you receive the team must close each week to shrink the backlog to its target by the end of the period.
How often should we review the goals?
Weekly for a quick look at the numbers and monthly for a real conversation about what is helping. Adjust the target only if the situation changed, not because a week was bad.
