Help center article template generator: a how-to skeleton

Most help center articles go wrong the same way: a vague title, long paragraphs and steps that bundle three actions. Describe the task to get a clean skeleton you can fill in.

Questions

What makes a help center article easy to follow?

A title that matches what the customer would search, one action per step, and button names copied exactly from the screen. Keep each article to one task.

How long should an article be?

As short as the task allows. Most how-to articles fit in three to eight steps. If you need more, split it into two articles that link to each other.

Should every article have a troubleshooting section?

Only when there are known reasons the steps fail. Two or three real causes from your tickets beat a long generic list.

Where do I paste the template?

Into your help center editor. The headings and numbered list are Markdown, which most editors accept, and plain text works anywhere.

Is anything I type saved?

No. The template is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
