Term-start questions answered once, then reused

The same questions arrive every term: dates, fees, how to log in, where to send forms. Flatdesk keeps them in one queue, answers the repeats from your help center, and charges $49 per agent per month, or $39 billed yearly however busy the first week is.

The Flatdesk inbox with open conversations, owners and an AI answered label

What it does for this

  • One queue for the office

Email and website chat in a shared inbox, with tags and groups like Admissions or Fees so questions reach the right person.

  • A help center for the repeats

Dates, fees, forms and log-in help as public articles. The AI reads them and links to them when it answers.

  • Answers the AI can't be sure of go to a person

If the AI isn't sure, or the sender asks for a person, the ticket goes to your team with a note saying why.

  • Busy week targets

Set a first reply target in business hours, list the days you're closed, and send an after-hours reply so parents know when to expect an answer.

  • Languages

Tickets from families writing in Spanish, Japanese or 20 other languages are translated for your staff, and you can translate your reply back before sending.

Where it falls short

If you need these today, another help desk fits better.

  • Flatdesk isn't a student information system and doesn't connect to one. Look up records there, then reply here.
  • No FERPA or similar compliance claim. Don't put sensitive student records in tickets; the security page lists what isn't in place.

Questions

Can parents use a chat on our website?

Yes. One script tag adds the chat bubble, and chats become tickets.

Do you have a student data agreement?

There are data processing terms on the DPA page. Flatdesk makes no education-specific compliance claim, so check with your school's policy before storing student records.

Does staff outside the office need seats?

Only if they reply. Teachers who only need to read can be viewers, who aren't billed.
